Crocus Soundware Liminal µ: Bamboo Winds is a compact sample library built around closely recorded bamboo transverse flutes for use with the full version of Kontakt 6.8+. Its sound palette centers on long, evolving and aleatoric articulations in which natural performance movement contributes character to each sample. Close microphone placement captures the breath and air passing through the instruments, producing warm and detailed flute textures.
The library is designed for adding organic variation, subtle unpredictability and human performance detail to music production. Rather than focusing on rapid passages or prominent melodic lines, it works primarily as a source of naturalistic pads and evolving textures, providing tonal movement and imperfections that can complement more synthetic sound sources.
The interface provides controls for layering, mixing and reversing articulations. Its crossfade gizmo enables the blending of sound layers through color-coded controls, while LFO functions can synchronize individual layer volume modulation to the DAW tempo. This makes it possible to create tempo-synchronized swells and continuously changing textures. The Randomize feature can also generate different combinations of sample banks, layer settings and LFO states.

Liminal µ: Bamboo Winds contains intimately recorded bamboo transverse flute samples captured with large-diaphragm condenser microphones positioned within centimeters of the instruments. This recording approach preserves detailed performance characteristics, including the breath and physical movement of the flute playing.
The library includes both solo and ensemble performances and provides four core articulations across eight sample banks. The material can be shaped within Kontakt by combining layers, reversing sounds, blending articulations and applying tempo-synchronized volume modulation.
