To fully understand the production, distribution and consumption of energy it is necessary to have at least a qualitative understanding of various technical, environmental, financial, legal and governmental factors. I used the word qualitative in the previous sentence to allude to the fact that it is not necessary to be an engineer, lawyer or accountant to be energy literate. Energy literacy is within the grasp of the layman!
