Good Woodworking - May 2016
English | 92 pages | True PDF | 20.1 MB
Feeling refreshed after a redesign, GW returns this month with another issue packed full of great projects, techniques, features and regular pages for you to enjoy. We also have a great competition for you - the chance to win 1 of 10 Hedgehog EasyAirWedges, which are ideal for a multitude of woodworking and general purpose uses.
Our cover star this month is sculptural woodworker Mark Doolittle, whose pieces really need to be seen to be believed. We were lucky enough to speak to this amazingly talented maker to find out how he celebrates biology through the medium of wood - and if you're wondering how it's done, he tells all in his carving masterclass. Projects include part 2 of Shaun Newman's ukulele build, Carl Jacobson's folding cedar lawn chair and Les Thorne's turned apple and rosewood box, and if you've been following Michael Huntley's new series then he returns again this month with a discussion on free-standing structures.
We also have Edward Hopkins' latest article, which sees him creating his own set of tubular bells and in 'Centrefold', Made by 68° unveil their latest piece.
Phil Davy reports from Totally Tools and Andy King has the scoop on all of Milwaukee's tools for 2016, which will be gracing the shelves soon. He also found the time to test all the latest kit, so be sure to pick up issue 305 of Good Woodworking, which hits the shelves on 22 April 2016.
