This course is for finance professionals, investors and students who want to read the hotel industry the way an analyst does, without having done the job. It explains what a hotel actually sells, how the money flows, and why the same building produces different numbers depending on who is reporting.
The course covers the full chain from a single room night to a company's annual report. You will learn how chain scale and service model shape a hotel's economics, how franchisors earn fees while owners book room revenue, and how occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, Total RevPAR, GOPPAR and cost per occupied room fit together. Later sections show where the numbers come from, how accounting choices distort the picture, and how to compare companies like Marriott and Host Hotels side by side.
The teaching is built on real filings, industry releases and standard definitions. Each lesson uses a small number of figures to show one idea, then explains what the number includes and what it leaves out. The focus is on reading the machine correctly, not on predicting the market.
