This book is subtitled "The Theory and Practice of Infantry Combat in the 20th Century" but this is not what the book is about at all. It is a reasonably well done, glossy history, cliff notes review of conflicts with little or no insight into infantry tactics, who developed them, or how they evolved. For casual readers looking for a historical overview, this will be adequate, but it will be a huge disappointment to anyone who is interested in a book with this title.
