ISO/IEC 42001:2023 AIMS Lead Implementer Masterclass
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
There is a difference between studying a standard and building a system. Most training explains what a clause says. Far fewer courses show you how to turn that clause into a policy, a register, a Statement of Applicability, and an audit trail that can withstand a certification audit.
This course is designed to close that gap.
This is a complete ISO/IEC 42001:2023 AIMS Lead Implementer programme, structured section by section from AI fundamentals through implementation and certification readiness, with a full implementation case study in which an AI management system is taken from a blank page through to a successful certification audit.
The course begins at first principles. You learn what artificial intelligence actually is - systems, models, data and the AI life cycle - how AI creates risks and impacts that organizations need to govern, and how ISO/IEC 42001:2023 addresses them through the Harmonized Structure, the PDCA model and a certifiable AI management system. No prior AI expertise and no prior ISO experience are required.
From there, the course works through every requirement of ISO/IEC 42001:2023, Clauses 4 to 10, as a generic, organization-neutral implementation guide: what each clause requires, how to implement it step by step, the documented information it produces, what auditors will look for as evidence, and the mistakes implementers most often make - with an implementer's perspective and a scenario knowledge check closing every clause.
The control layer follows: all 38 Annex A controls across the nine control domains - AI policies, internal organization, resources, impact assessment, the AI system life cycle, data, information for interested parties, responsible use, and third-party and customer relationships - each with its purpose and implementation approach, culminating in the Statement of Applicability.
The course then moves from understanding to construction. You conduct a structured AIMS gap analysis using the MSM Academy AIMS Gap Analysis Tool, a working Excel tool included with the course. You score and prioritize gaps and build a resourced implementation action plan. You then build the documentation the AIMS actually runs on: the documentation architecture, mandatory versus organization-determined documented information, document control, and a complete AIMS documentation master list spanning policies, procedures, SOPs, templates and guidelines.
Performance evaluation and improvement follow - monitoring and measurement, the internal AIMS audit conducted using the ISO 19011 audit method, management review, nonconformity and corrective action - followed by the road to certification: Stage 1, Stage 2, findings, the certification decision and the surveillance cycle.
Then the course moves into full application. Across a 16-lesson implementation simulation, you follow a complete AIMS implementation inside Nexus Financial Services, a realistic digital financial-services organization with multiple AI systems and third-party dependencies. The implementation runs from engagement kickoff and context through impact and risk assessment, the Statement of Applicability, life-cycle governance, data management, operational control, monitoring, internal audit, management review and corrective action, all the way to the certification audit itself - experienced from the implementer's side of the table.
The course closes with your Certificate of Completion, followed by the final assessment: two 40-question practice exams written in certification-exam style, with full explanations for every option, plus section knowledge checks throughout the course.
Upon successful completion, learners receive a Certificate of Completion from MSM Academy recognizing their participation in ISO/IEC 42001:2023 AIMS Lead Implementer training.
