Lemur Audio Ester 2 is a passive equalizer with a tube stage positioned before the passive EQ network. It combines tube-style saturation, harmonic coloration, and equalization in a design that separates the amount of drive from the subsequent tone-shaping process.
The input stage provides two distinct voicings and can be adjusted using INPUT TRIM. Because the tube stage is placed before the equalizer, its saturation level can be established independently before making changes to individual EQ bands.
Ester 2 also allows the equalizer to shape the harmonics generated by the tube stage. HIGH CUT can be used to soften high-frequency content introduced by heavier drive, while LOW CUT can control the additional low-frequency weight produced by saturation.
The plugin includes a dedicated meter that displays the harmonic content generated by the tube stage. The SAT control can bypass the saturation stage without changing its existing settings.
