The "Mississippi Rain" album is a long-awaited archival restoration of works by the obscure yet talented singer-songwriter duo, Dann Lottermoser and Leland Russell. Originally recorded in the early 1970s and intended for release on Polydor, the material stands as a prime example of the era's swamp rock and country rock. The album's sound is characterized by soft acoustic arrangements, harmonious vocals, and a Southern atmosphere reminiscent of early works by The Band or Creedence Clearwater Revival. Prior to this release, only the title single was widely known, having become a "hidden gem" of the era thanks to covers by more prominent contemporaries.
