This course will enable learners to have an insight into academic psychology. They will be able to make comparisons between everyday psychology and how it can be represented in their future essays, reports, presentations, experimental research etc. The content of the course will address the compounds of psychology. Therefore, learners will be able to identify Psychology, in a nutshell, as the science of the mind, body & behaviour. You are making a start by thinking about how psychology can be used in future and how its concepts can be linked to its principles.What is the purpose of Psychology?The perspective of psychology is on how we identify the functioning of the mind and why we behave in different ways. Psychology is a science, which is being researched and its components are being used to assess these factors related to the point of view of the person.We can start to analyse the areas Psychologists focus on when trying to assess people. This will include: -· The body· The mind· Personality· Gender· Social Skills· Relationship skillsWe will start by analysing how the body would be used to assess psychological compounds. The body will encompass its brains; hearts; hormones; genes and motion. The mind includes consciousness, sensations and perceptions, including: -· Vision· Hearing· Taste· Smell· Touch· Balance· PainThinking, which manages attention, memory, forming concepts, problem-solving, deciding & intelligence.Communicating, including verbal and non-verbal expressions, such as body language, gestures, speech and language, motivations as well as emotions.Personality has two main identifications. These include the extrovert vs introvert. When we analyse further there are the Type A and Type B personalities.Gender and sexuality can be analysed in such a way that you will understand how they can incorporate into psychology. It is important to consider equality and diversity, in terms of how we accept and embrace these forms of identity. Social skills and relationship skills are important in psychology. We are always trying to find ways to resolve and build on issues in our social relationships. The way we interact is helpful and healthy for your psychological profile. Engaging with people helps with stress management and in turn, will help with your psychological well-being.However, it is important to address any shortfalls in a relationship, where it is a give-and-take process.It is important to be able to deal with your surrounding environment.
