Requirements
No prior exercise experience needed - This course is designed for beginners and those returning to exercise after time away Ability to stand and walk short distances - Exercises can be modified for different mobility levels, but basic standing/walking ability is helpful
A sturdy chair - For support during standing exercises and for seated exercise modifications
Small open space - Enough room to take a few steps and extend your arms (about 6x6 feet)
Comfortable clothing and supportive shoes - Regular workout clothes not required, just clothes you can move in
Doctor's clearance - If you have chronic health conditions or concerns about exercise, please consult your healthcare provider before starting
Water bottle to stay hydrated
Yoga mat or non-slip surface (though carpet works fine)
Light hand weights (1-3 lbs) or water bottles as alternatives - completely optional

Those things that used to come naturally or easily for us, may be a little more challenging. Something as simple as walking may not be quite so simple any more. Whether it's getting up from a chair, climbing stairs, or simply walking with confidence, these daily activities are essential to maintaining your independence. I have prepared these workouts to give you exercises that you can use to help keep your lower body strong.
