Description
Learn to sing with proper support and to hit notes with accuracy, using note discrimination skills you will develop by taking this course. This information packed 8 week Hollitown course is taught by pro-focused, high-performance coach Holli Willibey, and it includes access to the video introducing you to the revolutionary Hollitown Method of Voice Instruction (4 Steps)! You will learn to define timbre, match notes using mid-tones, & much more. This course is for beginner to intermediate singing students that need help improving their ability to differentiate between notes in order to sing better. 8 weekly lessons include a minimum of one video lecture and one assignment. Video content covered includes: The Hollitown (4 Steps) Method of Voice Instruction, Timbre and Timbre Interference, Timbre and the Chest & Head Voices, More on Timbre in Voice & Instruments, Creating Vocal Timbre Changes, A Vocal Timbre Detailed Listening Assignment, Exploring Octaves, Consonance and Dissonance, and Simple Harmonies.Students will need a keyboard or a tuned piano to effectively participate in course activities and assignments. And, students are strongly encouraged to video record themselves when practicing to get the most out of each of their weekly practice sessions.Student outcomes: Students can expect to have a better understanding of what timbre is, how to match notes using mid-tones, and how to make timbre changes during vocal performances. Simple harmonies will be explored, and the exploration of note-matching in simple harmonies is encouraged so students can learn how to even more effectively tune into particular notes over others, then switch focus to immediately match new (formerly "competing") notes. If a student puts in the work to really get the most out of this course, s/he can expect to increase note discrimination skills exponentially.
