Big Man Labs Big Notes v1.0.3

Software Overview

---

Big Notes provides a convenient way to document external studio equipment without relying on separate notebooks or manually organized image files. Each plugin instance generates a unique QR code that connects your phone to the plugin, allowing you to take photos and send them directly into your DAW session.
With four independent photo slots per instance and synchronized text notes, you can preserve important details about your hardware and recording environment. Add an instance to individual tracks to keep relevant setup information organized alongside the audio it affects.
Key Features

---

• Phone-to-Plugin Photo Transfer: Scan the unique QR code generated by each instance to open the upload page on your phone and send photos directly to the plugin.
• Four Photo Slots: Store up to four images per instance to document front panels, rear connections, microphone positions, room placement, and other setup details.
• Image Controls: Zoom, pan, and rotate each stored image independently.
• Session Notes: Record gain staging values, patch settings, signal chain details, and other information that cannot be captured clearly in a photograph.
• Real-Time Note Synchronization: Edit notes from the plugin or your phone and keep the information synchronized.
• Track-Level Documentation: Add separate instances to tracks that use external hardware, keeping each setup's photos and notes associated with the relevant channel.
• Hardware Setup Recall: Document compressor settings, preamp configurations, microphone placement, guitar pedalboards, amplifier settings, and synthesizer patches.
• DAW Session Integration: Keep photos and notes inside the project workflow so important setup information remains available when reopening a session.
• Light and Dark Themes: Choose a visual theme to suit your DAW interface or studio lighting. The phone upload page automatically follows the selected theme.

Why Choose Big Notes?

---

Big Notes helps reduce the guesswork involved in recreating hardware-based recording and mixing setups. By keeping photographs and written notes with the relevant DAW session, it makes it easier to recall equipment settings months later, maintain consistency between sessions, and document complex studio signal chains.
