in just 1 day?When I say 1 day, I'm being very conservative.If you have all the requirements in place, I risk to say that you may be able to build that even in a shorter period!Big data sizeSo you have an idea (and I know you do), one year of raw billing data can range between 50GB to 100GB. For a matter ofcomparison, if you were to save the entire Wikipedia in text format, it would be 30GB.The amount of raw data related to cost and usage is extremely huge.Manual processes in Excel were nearly impossible due to the data size, forcing summarization that led to the loss ofcritical details.Third-Party toolsThere are many third-party tools out there. Although they have many cool features, getting an existing third-party tools havetheir own challenges:They were prohibitively expensive.Need to go through an exhausting Procurement process,most of them lacked the flexibility I needed for tailoredanalysis.Open source toolsI will not lie to you. There are also good open source optionsout there. Just Google it and you will find.
