Turn vague requests into precise instructions with clear desired outcomes
Provide the right context and background information for more relevant AI responses

Requirements

---

No previous experience with artificial intelligence or prompt engineering is required.
Students should have access to ChatGPT or another conversational AI tool so they can practice the exercises throughout the course.
Bring a few real tasks, questions, conversations, or problems you would normally use AI to help with.
Most importantly, come prepared to experiment.
Description

---

AI can write, research, analyze, brainstorm, explain, summarize, and solve problems in seconds.
But there is a problem most people overlook
AI is only as useful as the conversation you have with it.
Many people use AI by typing a short question, accepting the first response, and moving on. Others write complicated prompts without understanding what actually makes an AI interaction effective.
The result is often the same: vague answers, generic content, unnecessary back-and-forth, and frustration.
The solution isn't learning hundreds of complicated prompting tricks.
It's learning how tocommunicate with AI clearly.
InHow to Talk to AI: Communicate Clearly, Get Better Answers & Work Smarter, you'll learn a practical communication system for getting more useful, relevant, and reliable results from conversational AI.
You'll learn how to
Be clear about what you want.
Give AI the context it needs.
Specify the tone, format, and level of detail.
Set useful constraints.
Iterate instead of starting over.
Challenge and refine AI's responses.
You'll discover why talking to AI is fundamentally different from using a traditional search engine-and why the best AI users don't simply ask better questions; they know how tohave better conversations.
You'll also learn how to use AI for more than generating answers. Through roleplay, perspective-shifting, and high-stakes preparation, you'll learn how to use AI as a communication and thinking partner when preparing for difficult conversations, presentations, negotiations, and other professional situations.
Most importantly, you'll learn where AI's role ends.
AI can help you organize your thoughts, explore possibilities, and prepare more effectively. But it cannot replace your judgment, relationships, emotional intelligence, or responsibility for what you ultimately say and do.
The goal isn't to become better at writing complicated prompts.
The goal is to become better at communicating with AI.
Clearer communication.
Better conversations.
Better results.
