The course brings together important topics related to salary structure, payroll, social security, leave, working hours, holidays, and women employee protection in one focused learning experience.
You will begin by understanding salary structures, wage components, Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Retaining Allowance, excluded components of wages, the 50% rule, CTC versus legal wages, minimum wages, deductions, overtime, payment, full and final settlement, and payroll records. The course also explains how wage definitions can affect statutory benefits such as PF, bonus, gratuity, and overtime.
The course then covers social security compliance, with focused sessions on Provident Fund (PF), PF applicability for contract employees, ESIC, gratuity, employer eligibility, coverage rules, exemptions, insurance, and common misconceptions around contract labour and statutory benefits. You will also explore potential compliance exposure and important employer responsibilities.
The final section focuses on leave, holidays, working hours, rest periods, shift work, statutory displays and notices, and women employee protection. Topics include maternity benefits, workplace facilities, night and hazardous work, workplace safety, and the linkage with POSH compliance.
