Learn how the Code supports the protection of ships, port facilities, personnel, cargo, and critical interfaces while helping security arrangements remain workable alongside safety and commercial activities.
Starting with the SOLAS Chapter XI-2 framework, you will examine ISPS Code terminology, applicability, security levels, and the responsibilities of the Company Security Officer, Ship Security Officer, and Port Facility Security Officer. You will then explore how Ship Security Assessments and Port Facility Security Assessments identify threats, vulnerabilities, consequences, and proportionate control measures. The course distinguishes assessment findings from security plan content and addresses the careful handling of sensitive security information.
Progress from governance to implementation through shipboard access control, restricted areas, monitoring, security communications, cargo and stores interfaces, and port-facility perimeter management.
