Lumenzia is a Photoshop luminosity masking panel designed to simplify the creation and use of precise tonal masks for photographic editing. It handles the underlying masking operations through its JavaScript engine, allowing users to work visually with luminosity, color, saturation, and other selections.
The panel provides interactive controls for creating custom masks, previewing their effect, refining selections, and combining different masks. It can be used for exposure adjustments, local contrast enhancement, dodging and burning, color work, sharpening, and other image-editing tasks where selective control is required.
Lumenzia is designed to keep the Photoshop workspace compact by avoiding unnecessary channel-based workflows. It also provides tools for exposure blending, vignettes, mask visualization, and non-destructive adjustments while maintaining smooth tonal transitions through 16-bit mask creation.

Software Overview

Lumenzia provides a visual approach to luminosity masking in Adobe Photoshop. Users can preview masks across the image, select specific tonal ranges by clicking directly on the image, and refine or combine masks according to the desired editing area.
The panel supports multiple mask types, including luminosity, color, saturation, vibrance, zone, range, and difference masks. Selections can also be added, subtracted, or intersected to create more controlled editing regions.

Visual Mask Creation

Lumenzia allows masks to be created and evaluated visually rather than relying entirely on manually configured channels. Users can click directly on an image to select or deselect tonal and color ranges and preview the resulting mask before applying it.
Selections can be isolated to specific image areas and combined with other masks for more detailed control. Masks are created in 16-bit precision, helping maintain smooth transitions when working with demanding tonal selections.
Exposure Blending

The PreBlend feature helps simplify exposure blending by automatically stacking, aligning, and sorting exposures from light to dark. This provides a structured starting point for combining multiple exposures within Photoshop.
Efficient Mask Management

Lumenzia avoids relying on Photoshop channels for its masking workflow and provides BlendIf, vector masks, and mask-combination tools to help limit unnecessary file growth. Group masks can also be combined to reduce their impact on document size while making the resulting mask easier to inspect.
Vignettes and Local Adjustments

Custom vignettes can be created by drawing a selection around the target area. The resulting vignette can be modified, inverted, or combined with luminosity masks to control how strongly different tonal regions are affected.
The panel also includes Local Contrast Enhancement, non-destructive saturation painting, advanced Dodging and Burning tools, and visualization utilities for identifying luminosity-related issues and dust.
Sharpening and Image Finishing

Lumenzia includes sharpening methods suited to different types of photography, including surface blur techniques for portraits and high-pass sharpening for landscapes. Its visualization tools can assist with identifying image defects before final adjustments.
System Requirements

Lumenzia is compatible with Photoshop CS6 - CC 2019+ on both Windows and OSX (CC 2019 or later recommended). Lumenzia does not support CS5 or earlier. The CS6 user interface functions the same, but looks somewhat different.
