This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Build a practical approach to OET Nursing Speaking through responsive conversations, guided examples and repeated spoken practice.
This course develops the skills needed to prepare a role card, open a conversation appropriately, explore the patient's concerns, explain information clearly and agree realistic next steps. You will practise listening to the answer and changing your response when the person's needs change.
Sixteen skills lessons cover preparation, questions, clarification, empathy, plain English, understanding checks, organisation, delivery, grammar, reluctance, professional limits and useful closings. Each lesson includes a clinical example, a task to attempt aloud and feedback to help you review your response.
Ten guided clinical cases apply those skills to blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, surgical discharge, hip-fracture rehabilitation, childhood fever, stopping smoking, low mood, postnatal support and vaccination concerns. The edited demonstrations use separate nurse and patient voices, followed by commentary and a changed-response exercise. They are teaching examples rather than recordings of official tests.

There are 30 paired cases: ten guided cases, ten independent practice cases and ten mock cases arranged into five paired sessions. Keep the partner card hidden, allow three minutes to prepare each nurse card and five minutes for each conversation, then review evidence from your recording. A four-week practice plan helps you organise the work.
The course draws on selected nursing communication chapters from Jobin Thomas's OET books. Teaching videos use AI-assisted production and synthetic narration, with English captions and written transcripts. The materials are designed for nurses and nursing students with enough English to hold a connected conversation. A practice partner is strongly recommended.
