Practical Gen-AI (Claude) for Finance, Accounts and Audits is a hands-on course designed to help finance, accounting, and audit professionals apply Generative AI to real-world work, not just learn about AI concepts.
The course begins withprompt engineering specifically relevant to Finance, Accounts and Audit, helping participants learn how to provide context, be specific, iterate, reframe, challenge conclusions, use guardrails, and build detailed prompts. Participants will also exploreClaude Skills, learning how effective prompt structures and best practices can be packaged and reused for recurring activities.
The course then moves into practical applications. Participants will work withClaude add-ins for Excel and PowerPoint and exploreClaude Cowork in depth to work across multiple files and automate activities such asMonth-End Close (MEC), reconciliations, and journal entries. They will also learn how anMEC Agent can take automation further.
Beyond automation, the course demonstrates how Claude can support analytical work includingfinancial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
A dedicated audit section focuses on identifying transactions that deserve attention. Participants will apply techniques such asBenford's Law, ageing analysis, and sampling, including how GenAI can assist with sampling, an area many auditors find challenging. These techniques are also highly relevant forfraud risk analysis and investigations.
Most importantly, this is apractice-along course. Participants will work with the same files used in the demonstrations, enabling them to reproduce the analysis, experiment with prompts, and build confidence in applying Claude to their own Finance and Audit workflows.
