Mark Ramm, Kevin Dangoor, Gigi Sayfan, "Rapid Web Applications with TurboGears: Using Python to Create Ajax-Powered Sites"
English | 2007 | pages: 504 | ISBN: 0132433885 | EPUB | 3,4 mb
Programming tools are constantly evolving to make simple things easier, and more complex things possible, and TurboGears is at the forefront of a revolution in web application development. It increases programmer productivity, and at the same time it makes it possible to create more dynamic, more user-friendly web applications. Moreover, TurboGears re-uses several existing Python frameworks, which are themselves not particularly well-documented. Thus, another aim of this book is to cover the rich functionality that is available to TurboGears users through the use of these frameworks. This bookis organized into two main sections: the first is designed to get readers productive quickly. This section introduces a small web application built with TurboGears, and then proceeds to enhance it over the next several chapters, introducing readers to the various TurboGears frameworks that make these enhancements possible. The second part of the book takes a detailed look at each of the frameworks on which TurboGears is built. These include SQL Object, CherryPy, Kid, and MochiKit, a JavaScript library designed to support AJAX.
