You can build screens. This course covers everything that comes after.
You will build Holidia, a property booking app for iOS and Android, starting from an Expo project and finishing with a checkout that charges a real card. Along the way you will answer the questions most tutorials skip. Where does the auth token live so a session survives a restart? What does the interface do in the gap between tapping a heart and the server confirming it? How does a date range from a calendar travel across three screens and turn into a Stripe payment?
Every feature is built the way you would build it at work.
Authentication. Login and signup backed by Zustand persisted to MMKV, with Expo Router route groups that redirect anyone who is not signed in. Users stay logged in between launches, and you get a pattern you can reuse in every app after this one.
Search. Queries that debounce as you type and page through results with FlatList.
Favorites. Optimistic updates that change the interface the instant someone taps, then roll back cleanly when a request fails. This is the difference between an app that feels fast and one that feels broken on wifi.
Booking. Date ranges through Flash Calendar, availability checked against the property, and a booking draft that survives closing the app in the middle of checkout.
Payments. A real Stripe checkout, including the payment sheet, error states, confirmation, and a booking you can watch appear.
TypeScript runs through all of it, covering API responses, route parameters, and store state. So do Tanstack Query, React Hook Form, and Tailwind styling using Uniwind, inside a folder structure you can easily navigate.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You know React and are comfortable reading JSX. You have built at least one React Native screen, tutorial or otherwise.
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
Complete beginners to React or React Native. Learn components and hooks first, because this course assumes both. Anyone hoping for a no-code or template build, since you will write every file yourself. Anyone looking for native Swift or Kotlin, because this is React Native and Expo throughout.
By the last lesson you will have a booking app running on your phone, a codebase you understand line by line, and a clear answer the next time someone asks how you would handle payments.
