The Westies takes place during the construction of the Jacob Javitz Convention Center on the Westies’ home turf in Hell’s Kitchen, which promises a financial windfall. Despite being outnumbered fifty-to-one by the Five Families of the Italian Mafia, the Westies’ legendary brutality and cunning have given them the leverage necessary to share the spoils through a fragile détente. But internal conflict between the brash younger generation and the old-school leadership threatens to set a match to this powder keg, which will sweep the Westies into the FBI’s ever-deepening investigation into the Italian mafia.
Season 1, Episode 01 – “The Troubles”
The Westies’ fragile deal with the Italians unravels after a reckless kidnapping; Flanagan is released from Bellevue and rejoins Roarke’s crew, Keenan is pulled onto an FBI task force, and Bridget receives a dangerous assignment from an IRA contact.
Season 1, Episode 02 – “The Houdini”
Roarke and the Westies hide the body of a dead Italian mobster and stage crimes to cover up the murder before Gotti retaliates; Polk pressures Keenan to dig into Sweeney’s Mafia ties, while Bridget uncovers more of Cahill’s plot.
