In this course we are going to learn how make a trap beat in the style of the producer Tay Keith. Tay Keith is one of the hottest producers in the game right now, working with artists including Future, Drake, Travis Scott, Beyonce and many more. His hard and bouncy trap beats have proved to be the sound of choice at moment as many of his recent productions have charted very high on the Billboard charts. In this course we talk about how to make a full beat in this style.
Video 1 - Melodic elements
We use Nexus to make a piano melody that will be the basis for our whole beat. We then add backing synths and basses that we will use later on in the track.
Video 2 - Drums
We make a hard trap beat to compliment our piano melody. We pick a kick, snare, hi-hat and a few percussion elements for the basis of our beat. We then make an 808 pattern to drive home our bassline.
Video 3 - Arranging the Beat
Finally we take all of our elements and arrange the beat into a full length track. This track would be ready for a rapper to record to.
